Karachi: Four league matches were decided yesterday of the 10th AKU Inter School/Collegiate Boys U-19 Basketball Tournament being organized by AKU Sports Centre at their Gymnasium.

MATCH # 1

THE CITY SCHOOL (PAF CHAPTER) Vs  ST. MICHAEL'S CONVENT SCHOOL  (Pool  B)
THE CITY SCHOOL (PAF CHAPTER) won the match, Score _63- 14_ Points. At half time, Score was _30 - 04 Points in favour of THE CITY SCHOOL (PAF CHAPTER)

1.   SIRAJ SOHAIL 16 Pts. 2.  SHERYAR SHAREEF 15 Pts. 3.  UMAIR ALI 14 Pts. While 1.   AZAM HUSSAIN 06 Pts.. 2. BILAL KHAN 04 Pts.  were the main scorers for looser.

CITY GULSHAN   won the match, Score _60 - 19 Points. At half time, Score was _22 - 06 Points in favour of  CITY GULSHAN

7th Inter Schools Mathematics Olympiads held  

 

Islamabad: Jan 29

7th Inter Schools Mathematics Olympiad 2012 was organized on Sunday at PakTurk International School Campus. Over 3000 students from 470 schools of Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Rawalpindi and the students of rural and urban areas of Islamabad participated in the mega educational competition.

 In order to provoke interest among the students, PakTurk International Schools and Colleges have been arranging Inter Schools Mathematics Olympiads (ISMO) for the last six years. Educationists have the point of view that there are not enough chances for our student to exhibit their talent to the world. There is an immense need of such programs for our brilliant youth. This unique competition provides a great chance for the students of class 5, 6, 7 and class 8 to show their incredible potential and win handsome prizes. This competition was open for the students of Government Schools as well as those of private schools and for both genders.

This year PakTurk International Schools and Colleges organized this maga event in collaboration with Federal Directorate of Education & Ministry of Education Government of Punjab.

Students, teachers, heads of educational institutes, educationists and parents of students also visited the occasion. The host students of PakTurk School also organized a fun fair where Turkish and local food stalls attracted the visitors to make the event more eye-catching. Increasing number of participating students, every year, shows the credibility and transparency of the event. The guests also appreciated the excellent arrangements for the students and the visitors.

Results of the competition will be announced on 11th February 2011 through website and prize distribution ceremony will be held on 18th February 2012.  Attractive prizes have been announced for the top twenty position holders in each category. The cash prizes for the first three positions are Rs. 30,000, 20,000 and 10,000 respectively for each of the 5, 6, 7 and 8 class categories. Moreover there are 7 prizes of Rs. 2000 and 10 prizes of Rs. 1000 for each category.
