PC DECIDED TO ACCELERATE THE PRIVATISATION PROCESS
Islamabad, March 21, 2012: The Privatisation Commission Board met here
today under the Chairmanship of the Federal Minister for Privatisation Mr.
GhaousBux Khan Maher.
PC Board took review of implementation of Board's decision of last two
years and showed concern over un-implemented decisions and directed to
expedite the implementation. The board also directed the Privatisation
Commission to overcome the operational deficiencies if any to speed up
the privatisation process.
While discussing the Capital Market Transaction Roadmap the Board decided
that as domestic Capital Market has recovered, and to help the local
market, Capital Market related transactions should be expedited. To ensure
timely completion of such transactions Board constituted a sub-committee
to oversee progress as per timelines.
For hiring of Lawyers and Law Firms for Privatisation Commission, PC Board
Constituted a Committee comprising Mr. LaeeqShiekh (Chairman), Director
General (Admin & Fin), member and Consultant (Legal), PC as members for
short listing of firms who have submitted EOIs. Whereas Fourteen Charted
Accountant and Valuer Firms also submitted EOIs for placement on PC panel.
The Board, selected Eight Charted Accountant firms and two Valuers firms
to provide support services to PC for three years.
The Board also approved the audited accounts of Privatisation Commission
for the year ending June 30, 2011.
The Board Members, representatives of Ministry of Petroleum & NR, Ministry
of Finance, Senior officials of Privatisation Commission, transaction
Managers and Financial Advisors attended the meeting.
Second session of PC Board meeting shall be held on 22.03.2012 in
Privatisation Commission.
