The following books written by American authors provide a clue about the real causes for war in Afghanistan after the departure of Soviet troops, that this War was for the interest of US OIL and Gas conglomerates, who had accquired mineral rights in newly liberated Central Asian States but had no way bring out the oil/gas to the sea without a pipeline: .

2002.  “Nuclear Cities and a Pipeline War,” by Michael Welch, Home Power Magazine # 87, pages 102-105, Feb/March 2002.  [After the demise of Soviet Union, the American Energy conglomerates had their eyes set on the Oil and Gas Resources located in newly liberated Asian Republics in Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. They approached the ruling elite and obtained concessions to get Oil and Gas from those reserves. But there was one other hurdle to bring the liquid gold to the market that it required building a 1000 miles long pipeline passing through Afghanistan and ending up in the Arabian sea through Pakistan, It offered a lucrative market not only abroad but also in Pakistan and India. Thus the next thing to safeguard their investments was to obtain rights for American military bases with the excuse that they will protect these new states from the Russian bear next door. After this they had to deal with the Taliban government in power at that time, to protect the interests of UNOCAL (now a part of BP),  interested in the pipeline project. But the smell of money brought another company from Argentina, named Bridas (fourth largest energy group in Latin America) as their competitor, which was going to spoil the British-American game. Both competitors set their offices in Islamabad hoping to win the pipeline contract. They offered better terms to Taliban to sway them away from UNOCAL. Finally on July 17, 2001, a final meeting was held in Berlin between Taliban and Northern Alliance was held but Taliban representative never showed up. The reason for this was a stormy meeting organized by UN Security Council, during which the American representative threatened the Taliban by saying, “ Either you accept our offer of a carpet of gold, or we bury you under a carpet of bombs.” That was it, and the rest is history, and the Taliban representative never showed up after having been intimidated by the American military threat option].

The two groups are developing contingency plans to attack Pakistan’s military bases and remove its nuclear weapons if the government or the nuclear weapons fall into the wrong hands. Japan Times, November 10, 2001 said “ There may have been threats to enact this plan on September 13, 2001. The newspaper later notes that this “threat to divest Pakistan of its ‘crown jewels’ was cleverly used by the U.S., first to force Musharraf to support its military campaign in Afghanistan, and then to warn would-be coup-plotters against Musharraf.” (It was the beginning of entry of BlackWater in Pakistan). LA Weekly of Nov. 9, 2001 reported that Israel and India threatened to attack Pakistan and take control of its nuclear weapons if Pakistan did not side with the U.S., and the rest is cunning history.

We categorically condemn terrorism but muslim ummah must believe that US contingency plan is to destroy the muslim world one by one as there is series of turmoil and un-necessary heat being generated in yemen, libya, muscat, bahrain, syria and peace loving muslim ummah. Gen. Ashfaq Kayani, the Pakistani army chief of staff, spoke to cadets at
the Kakul Military Academy on April 23.
"The terrorists' backbone has been broken and, inshallah [God willing], we
will soon prevail," he said in his speech, which was broadcast on state
television.
The fact that Osama bin Laden was living roughly a mile away from Kakul in
a fortified compound has proved embarrassing both for the Pakistani
military and for its civilian government, calling into question whether they knew
about his presence in Abbottabad — or how they could have failed to know.
"I think that the Pakistani army and intelligence have a lot of questions
to answer, given the location, the length of time and the apparent fact that
this facility was built for bin Laden, and its closeness to the central
location to the Pakistani army," Carl Levin (D-MI), who chairs the Senate
Armed Services committee, told reporters Monday.
Another Possible Casualty?
"A lot of people on our side wonder how this could have happened without the
Pakistanis knowing," says Daniel Markey, a senior fellow at the Council
on Foreign Relations. "If they weren't complicit, they were incompetent, so
why should we bother partnering with them?"

A lot of people on our side wonder how this could have happened without the
Pakistanis knowing. If they weren't complicit, they were incompetent, so
why should we bother partnering with them?

- Daniel Markey, a senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations
Both the U.S. and Pakistan have depended heavily on each other over the
past decade. The U.S. has sent billions of dollars in military and economic
assistance to Pakistan, which has been an essential if not always perfect
ally both in fighting terrorism and prosecuting the war in neighboring
Afghanistan.
Relations had weakened during recent months, however. And the question of
how bin Laden came to be living in a densely populated city 35 miles from
the capital, Islamabad, is bound to cause further tensions.
"The best possible outcome of this is that it will cause both sides to do
some fundamental thinking about the relationship," says Richard Fontaine, a
former foreign policy adviser to Sen. John McCain (R-AZ).
But, he adds, "It's possible that the relationship with Pakistan will be a
casualty of this."
Hiding In Plain Sight
Abbottabad is home not only to the military academy but to a large number
of retired and active military officers. The compound in which bin Laden was
killed by U.S. Special Forces "has been in existence for roughly five
years," according to a senior Obama administration official.

Several Pakistani presidents have said they didn't know where bin Laden
was, notes Fontaine, the former McCain aide. That was easy to believe when it
was suspected the al-Qaida leader was living in the mountains of
Waziristan, he says. It seems like more of a stretch once it turned out he was living
relatively close to the capital in a structure far larger than the local
norm, behind high walls topped with barbed wire.
"That really deepens suspicions about Pakistani capability or intentions,"
says Fontaine, who is now a senior fellow at the Center for a New American
Security.
What Did The Pakistanis Know?
President Obama took pains to praise the Pakistani government for its help
in fighting al-Qaida in his speech Sunday night.
"It's important to note that our counterterrorism cooperation with Pakistan
helped lead us to bin Laden and the compound where he was hiding," Obama
said.
Officials from both the American and Pakistani governments, however,
stressed that the operation was a unilateral affair carried out solely by U.S.
military and intelligence.

If the person killed in Abbottabad is indeed Bin Laden, that story should have been verified by an independent DNA test. Why did the US authorities quickly disposed of the body, that too in the sea, at an undisclosed location, without waiting for an independent DNA verification? Is there an effort to destroy evidence?

Below is a statement issued by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Pakistan on the death of Osama bin Ladin:

Death of Osama bin Ladin

"In an intelligence driven operation, Osama Bin Ladin was killed in the surroundings of Abbotabad in the early hours of this morning. This operation was conducted by the US forces in accordance with declared US policy that Osama bin Ladin will be eliminated in a direct action by the US forces, wherever found in the world.

Earlier today, President Obama telephoned President Zardari on the successful US operation which resulted in killing of Osama bin Ladin.

Osama bin Ladin's death illustrates the resolve of the international community including Pakistan to fight and eliminate terrorism. It constitutes a major setback to terrorist organizations around the world.

Al-Qaeda had declared war on Pakistan. Scores of Al-Qaeda sponsored terrorist attacks resulted in deaths of thousands of innocent Pakistani men, women and children. Almost, 30,000 Pakistani civilians lost their lives in terrorist attacks in the last few years. More than 5,000 Pakistani security and armed forces officials have been martyred in Pakistan's campaign against Al-Qaeda, other terrorist organizations and affiliates.

Pakistan has played a significant role in efforts to eliminate terrorism. We have had extremely effective intelligence sharing arrangements with several intelligence agencies including that of the US. We will continue to support international efforts against terrorism.

It is Pakistan's stated policy that it will not allow its soil to be used in terrorist attacks against any country. Pakistan's political leadership, parliament, state institutions and the whole nation are fully united in their resolve to eliminate terrorism."

PRESS RELEASE
Re: THE DEMISE OF OSAMA BIN LADEN

Whether Osama bin Laden ( Rahmathullah) was a  rabid terrorist as alleged by  America or just yet another Muslim leader  who struggled, against heavy odds, to secure justice to his suffering fellow-religionists, Allah alone knows. But he was undoubtedly a MUJAHIDH in the  broadest and truest sense of the term.  The least Muslims worldwide ought to do now is organize a MASS CONGREGATIONAL  FUNERAL PRAYER IN ABSENTIA and pray for his MAGHFIRATH ((salvation)
