Dear Sir,
While correctly condemning the cold blooded murders in in strongest terms in Kohistan , you had bracketed Shias as minorities - why? is this a deliberate attempt? they are part and parcel of the Muslim Ummah?!   - . Next, u have advised the affected party to go seek the international fora like the Baluchi Nationalists.      Sir I am not sure whether this advice is from a sane and well informed person or from the one who wants to give it a Bizzarie touch and throws some crumbs to earn cheap popularity.  If the Baluchis have gone to the international levels viz the alleged crimes of the  ISI - though hard to believe due various logical reasons - then why do u  not advocate those Settlers (Basically Urdu and Punjabi Speaking) whose loved one's have in thousands been murdered in Baluchistan or pushed back into the remaining provinces . their girls raped and many of them butchered in cold blood??
Are u the one who gives fatwas while sitting in the comfort of your drawing rooms like Mr Hamid Mir of GEO  or are u like the typical shadow under the burning lamp?? Unfortunately, I smell the tone and tenor of the moron Asma Jahangir in ur write up

UNIDO to support, participate in Islamabad Expo: Bakhait

Female creative workers underpaid, under-represented: Samina Fazil

Government-backed initiatives can ensure diversity, wider female representation

Dated: March 01

Islamabad: Country Chief of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Ms. Shadia Yousuf Bakhait on Thursday said Pakistan women possess great creative skills that need to be polished.

UNIDO will continue to contribute to the creative industry of Pakistan by organizing training workshops, seminars and events for the women entrepreneurs, she said.

Bakhait said that we will support Islamabad Expo 2012 being organised by Islamabad Women's Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IWCCI) titled "Women in Creative Industry."

The expo reinforces the idea of highlighting all the women adding great value to this critical sector, she added.

We will keep on designing new programmes for women through close cooperation with the IWCCI and other partners to ensure their capacity building and proper visibility, said National Programme Coordinator UNIDO, Shahina Waheed.

Pervain Khan, Head of Business Development, FWBL said, "We are pinning high hopes in the mega event in which women from across Pakistan as well as Saarc countries are participating."

At the occasion, Samina Fazil said that female creative artisans as well as workers are underpaid and under-represented; they need more encouragement, collaboration, networking, promotion and guidance.

Women are facing imbalances including substantially lower returns than men do, she said.

Pakistani creative industry is lagging behind other sectors in the fight for gender equality; many leading institutions are suffering from a dearth of women in high-ranking positions, she observed.

Samina Fazil noted that women leaders have more consultative and nurturing approach but not enough of them made it to the top in the creative industry because of the lack of a welcoming environment.

She called for more Government-backed initiatives to ensure diversity and removal of barriers in different sectors for wider female representation.
