I am afraid I beg to differ on one account, your comment that "those are killed are also equally responsible for it as they greed some little dollars and doing what so ever demanded by the foreign medias to them."
It may be true for a few but a true journalist goes for a story for the thrill, the commitment to dig out the truth and that perception of achieving a scoop.
I visited the Freedom Park in DC last year and saw a monument erected to commemorate journalists who have sacrificed their lives for the freedom of Press all over the world and was pleased to see that the names of Pakistanis were updated regularly. My heart swelled with pride that despite years of suppression, Pakistani journalists are at the fore front of a free and and vibrant media; but was equally saddened to see the high number of my own countrymen adorning the  monument, having sacrificed their lives. His or her name may be emblazoned in glory but rightly asked by you what about the family members, the survivors, the dependents, who will have to eke out a living without in some cases, the sole breadwinner of the family.
Perhaps as a journalist body, we should plan to set up a fund for supporting the family and a scholarship for the children from our side. Instead of looking to the government or the employers alone, let us try to help ourselves bear the aftershocks of such gruesome tragedy.
May Allah keep everyone safe (Ameen)

Tariq you well said foreign media is responsible behind killing of Pakistani Journalists and I add in it those are killed are also equally responsible for it as they greed some little dollars and doing what so ever demanded by the foreign medias to them. Many times they crossed the limits. If the coverage of war on terror is so important for these outlets then why don't they send their correspondents oin this war zone areas - answer is simple that their staffers are not ready to come to put their life on risk while these outlets are also have good chance to play with life of pakistani journalists who are less paid - by greeding them dollars.

Foreign Media Responsible For Assassination of Pakistani Journalists

Foreign media and organisations will always say that freedom of expression and free journalism is something alien to Pakistani society.

They know that yet they push young reporters to file stories that land them/their families into problems. Many pay the ultimate price to boost the sale of foreign media.

Many reporters are aggressive by default; encouragement makes them more insistent. However, grey-haired /white-haired editors are not/should not.

Editors should not see damaging stories from purely business point of view; rather they should mull all the consequences.

Journalism should not be lost to commercialism.

The killing of Saleem will be forgotten after some time; the mystery (Whodunit) will never be resolved, Asia Times, like other media businesses, got publicity and will find people to become fuel of their lust to become popular.

But what about his family and kids, who will fill the gap in their lives. They have lost him forever. He will never come back for them.

I can bet that his anniversary will go unnoticed and many more would have paid by then.

Time will tell who was behind this crime, or any journalist can---

I feel obliged to request my colleagues to exercise calm and restraint.. every truth should not be unmasked. Some secrets are best when kept to chest.

May Allah bless Saleem and all other martyrs and give vision to the rest to discharge duties while remaining safe.

The statement of US Sec. of State Ms Clinton is encouraging but will it help the slain reporter, the unfortunate widow or orphans.

Money is very important thing but not most important thing. We should not do anything/everything for money and fame.

Women entrepreneurs demand incentives, tax breaks
Women-specific measures to help achieve balanced growth

Dated: June 02

Islamabad: Women entrepreneurs on Friday demanded incentives and tax breaks in the national budget saying that the progress can be achieved by providing equal opportunities to the 52 per cent of the population.

Allocation for development of women should be satisfactory while fiscal policies should help reduce poverty level of women, said Samina Fazil, President, Islamabad Women's Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IWCCI).

Speaking at a meeting at FPCCI Capital office, she said that effective use of public resources can result in desired economic development.

Women continue to struggle with the slow economic development caused by various factors that needs to be revisited, Samina demanded.

All the services, opportunities and assistance packages should be designed to benefit both genders, she said adding that women must be included in planning, budgeting, and policy-making processes in a meaningful way.

Globally, six out of ten poorest people are women, their representation in parliaments is less than 16 per cent, two thirds of all children deprived of education are girls while 80 percent women cannot get bank loans because of unpaid or insecure jobs, she informed.

The IWCCI president said that women comprise 52 percent of the population in Pakistan but own less than one percent of the wealth because of discrimination and social prejudices.

At the occasion, Chairman Coordination FPCCI Raza Khan said that government as well as business community should promote women's enterprise, expand opportunities and education for women and enhance public education.

He said that women play a very important role in the economic development of Pakistan which is not properly noticed or appreciated.

FPCCI will help women interact with the media, civil society, public, parliamentarians and policy makers to highlight their issues, said Raza Khan.

Progress will remain a dream if majority of the population feel jobless, hopeless, vulnerable, harassed and hapless; he said adding that policy and governance structures should be redesigned to end marginalization.

President Tribal Chamber Fayaz Khan, former presidents of ICCI Nasir Khan, Khaid Jaweed, Mian Shaukat Masood, Cahirman Marble Association Shahid ur Rehman, Mian Waqas and others were also present on the occasion.

They said that women should be given ownership of land and control over productive resources. Rural women are major contributors in crop and livestock production, household maintenance, transportation of water, fuel, fodder etc without getting any wages or benefit.

The urban workingwomen is dependent on middlemen, have no access to information and credit which keep them poor and their potential remains unrealized, they said.

This culture must be changed to achieve growth rate acceleration, and economic stabilization, the business leaders demanded.
