George Sherriff lauds FSJA's services for capacity building of journalists.

Islamabad, November 30: Federal Sports Journalists' Association (FSJA), Wednesday, organized a Journalists' Training Workshop titled "Ethics, Advance Techniques of Reporting & and International Exposure" at beautiful hall of British High Commission here at Diplomatic Enclave.

 

The objective of the workshop was to train and educate sports reporters about the latest methods and techniques being used worldwide, especially in the coverage of international events. The perspective of the event was also to inform the media persons about the rules and regulations of upcoming London Olympic 2012.

 

The event was organized in close in collaboration with, Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) and Think Tank Journal (TTJ). 

Shela Qayum on behalf of British High Commission gave a special presentation along with documentaries on plans to bring the 2012 London Olympics closer to the people of Pakistan as well as to get the objective and theme of London Olympics publicized in a better and an appropriate manner.


The Journalists Training Workshop comprised on lectures, discussions and Q & As segments. Trainers of international fame delivered lectures to the participants. Dozens of Sports' Journalists of the federal capital from electronic and print media houses attended the workshop with keen interest and fully participated in the discussions and question / answer session.

Several renowned office bearers of sports federations in Islamabad, including Ijazur Rehman Secretary General Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Association, Ifran Mehmood Secretary General Pakistan Rowing Federation, Shahhid Shinwari Vice President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ICCI) along famous businessmen were also present in the workshop as observers. Their presence showed FSJA's success in getting business community and sports bodies involved in the promotion of sports activities. The colourful banners gave the event graceful look to the event.

Press Attaché George Sherriff on behalf of H.E. British High Commissioner Adam Thomson, Press Attaché George Sherriff, PSB representatives along with several other high profile personalities also became part of event.


In a statement read by George, H.E. Mr Adam Thomson said: "The eyes of the world will be on London next year for the greatest show on earth, the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympics Games. I would like to thank the FSJA for organising this training session today for sports journalists which will help them bring next year's Games to the people of Pakistan."

At the conclusion of the workshop, certificates were distributed among the participants on successful completion of workshop. President FSJA Muhammad Arshad, on behalf of FSJA, presented special shields for H.E. British High Commissioner Adam Thomson, Press Attaché George Sherriff, and other honourable guests as token of thanks for their kind cooperation.
