National Workshop on Contemporary Issues of Youth Employment in Pakistan organized by ILO, UNDP and UNFPA


Islamabad: - ILO, UNDP and UNFPA are jointly organizing a national workshop titled "Contemporary Issues of Youth Employment in Pakistan" in Islamabad on 11th April 2012. The objective of this national workshop is to disseminate information about development of a joint programme by ILO, UNDP and UNFPA in the area of Youth Engagement for Decent Employment and Economic Growth as well as to discuss youth employment opportunities and challenges and to formulate a set of recommendations in this regard. This national workshop would provide a platform to discuss youth development and employment issues and identifying their solutions. National and international experts, senior government officials, UN heads of agencies, senior representatives of employers and workers associations, representatives of youth organizations will participate in this national workshop.

The workshop will take place on 11 April 2012 at ILO Office for Pakistan Sector G-5/2 Islamabad and concluding session is from 1400 to 1330 hrs.

Keeping in view of the continuing ILO's technical assistance to Pakistan and importance of UN role in various development activities in the country, we highly appreciate your
support in receiving in the adequate media coverage to the subject theme and the aforementioned event.
