Altaf hussain opposition to quota system in Sindh not justifiable

This is to reference to news items published in Daily Dawn on March 3, 2012, Statement by Altaf Hussain regarding abolishing quota in Sindh and it will unite the Sindhi Speaking living in rural area of Sindh and Urdu Speaking Sindhi living in Urban Area but it will create more hatred among the among people of Sindh.

If he is really interested in this, then he have to take some steps to do all which the rural area peoples have been deprived of their basic rights since last 60 years.

Sindhi Speaking even in Rural and Urban area welcomed all those who came from India at Independence time and they helped them financially and morally even many Sindhi peoples shared their homes with them.

In return, What Sindhi speaking got? For this, only when we look at the Mushraf tenure.

During Mushraf tenure, for getting Nazimship of Hyderabad and control it, Hyderabad was divided in the four districts while the Karachi was merged in to one district from five districts.

This division was in such that only deprived the Sindhi Speaking people living in the district.

During Mushraf's government, Rs 270 billion of development funds was allocated for only one district Karachi while Rs 70 billion for the rest of Sindh and of Rs 70 billion, the major share of these funds was spent in the Hyderabad especially in Latifabad.

If Altaf Hussian really wishes to unite Sindhi Speaking and Urdu Speaking Sindhi, then he had to do more rather than only issuing public statements.

Students from Sindh rural area are completed banned to get the admission in the education institutions by introducing barriers in getting the admission Karachi-based education institutions.

During Mushraf Government, then Nazim, MQM Mustafa Kamal Nazim of Karachi has got the resolution passed in the city government for giving priority to Karachi-based peoples in jobs in Karachi-based national and International companies which was also clearly efforts to deprive the young talents of rural area of Sindh.

According to government' report of 2009-2010 published in 2011, of total jobs in federal government, Punjab province got 46.11 per cent, KPK 27.88 per cent, Sindh Urban 8.95 and Sindh Rural 5.2 per cent, Balochistan 4.27, Azad Kashmir 1.10, Gilgat 5.82 and FATA 0.84 per cent in federal government's job

According to the constitution of Pakistan, Sindh rural share in the federal government is 11.4 per cent and Sindh urban is 7.6 per cent but figure of the report showed that Sindh rural got half than due share and Sindh Urban got 1 per cent more than its due share.

Sindh rural quota is being violated since 40 years and other hand, the purpose for introducing quota system to bridge disparity in the urban and rural area but at this time it has been increased due to poor education system in rural Sindh rather than it should had reduced the disparity.

Keeping in the view above all secenrio, if Altaf Hussain is really sincere with the rural population of Sindh, he should favor quota system and demand for its implementation and extension of quota sytem so that the disparity among the urban and rural of Sindh could be abolished.

MQM's current point of view will be harmful for existing harmony between urban and rural area of Sindh.

Pakistan Military Makes Homegrown Version of iPad

in a high-security air force complex that builds jet fighters and weapons systems, Pakistan s military is working on the latest addition to its sprawling commercial empire: a homegrown version of the iPad.

It's a venture that bundles together Pakistani engineering and Chinese hardware, and shines a light on the military s controversial foothold in the consumer market. Supporters say it will boost the economy as well as a troubled nation's self-esteem.

It all comes together at an air force base in Kamra in northern Pakistan, where avionics engineers
when they're not working on defense projects assemble the PACPAD 1.

"The original is the iPad, the copy is the PACPAD," said Mohammad Imran, who stocks the product at his small computer and cell phone shop in a mall in Rawalpindi, a city not far from Kamra and the home of the Pakistani army.
