NAVEED QAMAR TO CO-CHAIR PAK-KAZAKH JOINT MINISTERIAL COMMISSION ON APRIL 15

The 7th session of Pak-Kazakh Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) meeting will take place on April 15, 2011 (Friday) at Islamabad. It was decided during a meeting between Syed Naveed Qamar Federal Minister for Privatisation, Water & Power and Mr. Bakhitbek Shabarbayev Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Pakistan here today.
The Syed Naveed Qamar who is also Co-Chairman of Pak- Kazakh JMC hoped that the JMC would further strengthen the deep rooted relations between the two countries and the bilateral meetings and technical sessions between the Kazakh delegates and the private sector entrepreneurs of Pakistan would help each other to identify the areas of mutual interest to promote investment, economic and trade interaction.
The Minister underlined the need to further accelerate the pace of People to People interaction between the two countries through frequent exchange of delegations in the Trade, Commerce, Finance, Banking, Transport, Communication, Science & Technology, Water & Power, Railways and other sectors. There was a vast scope for Kazakh business and investment groups to participate in the various sectors under Privatisation Program of Pakistan through Public Private Partnership (PPP), he added.
Mr. Bakhitbek Shabarbayev Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Pakistan informed the Minister that 14 member Kazakh delegation will participate in the JMC to review the implementation of bilateral trade, Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA), formation of Joint Business Council (JBC) and memorandum on mutual cooperation between National Agency on export and investment 'KAZNEX INVEST" and Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP). The JMC will also focus matters pertaining to initiation of MOU for cooperation in SMEs, training of Kazakh bankers in Pakistan and formation of Joint Working Groups (JWG) to identify areas of mutual cooperation.
