Charity Concert for flood victims on Oct. 18
Islamabad – A group of young Pakistanis reaching out to the calls of help from flood-affected victims of Sindh province have initiated a campaign to raise funds for those who have nothing left in devastating natural disaster.
To extend a helping hand, a charity concert has been planned for coming Tuesday (Oct. 18) at Kuch Khaas , Islamabad at 7:30 pm. The artists who have volunteered to perform at the concert include: Arieb Azhar, Quratulain Baloch, Yasir & Jawad, Todd Shea.
Juvenile Dignitaries, a non-profit organization, Comprehensive Disaster Response Services (CDRS) and with Kuch Khaas and The Sonic Peacemakers have also joined hands for this noble cause.
"Help Us Help Them!" was the short and quick message by Naseem Khan Achakzai, founder of the Juvenile Dignitaries, a non-profit youth led organization. "We have not been able to pick ourselves from the last disaster and only a year later another calamity has hit us" regretted Naseem, adding that "it is vital that victims receive immediate help to provide the shelter to protect them, food and fresh water to keep the diseases at bay" and also help them to rebuild their lives when water subsides."
According to the sponsors of the concert, "with the generous donations we can help our brothers and sisters affected by this calamity." The concert is part of the flood relief efforts in Pakistan as the recent floods have affected 6 million people, damaging at least 80% of agricultural crops. At this crucial time, it is important to unite together and help those who need it desperately.
