people Iit defies all logic. The meaning of true democracy and the
pretence of it blurs the difference. Pakistanis think that merely
elections are democracy not to worry where 40% vote cast is fraudlent. I
wonder if Khulfai Rashdeen were democrats in the meaning of the word today?
But that was the most just system where Caliphs had been summoned by
the Qazis and at times cases decided against them and in favour of
Non-Muslim - or is this democracy where a President by constitution is
immuned from any prosecution regardless even if there is a henious crime
against him. He can abduct and murder any one, rape them burn down their
houses eat away the national wealth - but the constitution bars all
investigations against him! Would such a constitution be worth defending?
We hate Israel. But here is a country which punished her President for
sexual harrassment!? Why, in the first instance, President needs to be
immuned from any serious charges?*
*Mr Haroon have u seen Ayub Khan's days? The respect that the green
passport had? There were only a very few countries for which visa was
required. There was a complete law and order. One would walk safe in mid of
the night going about his/her own business. Countries economic progress was
considered exemplary by the world expert. But there was only one problem.
The politician game wrapped up. So in frustration they started spewing hate
against Ayub amongst the masses- and the result was ZAB who by many is
considered to be a fascit. PM actually misused the Army - which further
alienated the public - and with foreign sponsored propaganda a state of
Paranoia has developed within us that we are afraid of our shadows.*
*Now Mr Haroon if u invite a foreign power to guard or in so many word take
over our primary defence i.e nukes - then could there be any treason more
than this? Even the sikh list should have been tried for - not with-
standing the bad press.
