Uthman Khel Tribe demands separate Identity

A grand Jirga of Uthman Khel tribe on Monday demanded a separate division or agency so that more than one million people belonging to this tribe can progress.
The Jirga, held at village Kot comprised more than 500 notables observed that presently, Uthman Khel tribe is scattered in Bajaur, Dir, Malakand and Mohmand Agency which is impeding their growth.
At the occasion, ex-chairman Kot, Haji Muhammad Akbar, Mr. Ghaniur-Rehman and other notables along with their hundreds of supporters joined Uthmankhel Qaumi Movement (UQM).
Speaking on the occasion Akbar said that despite our loyalty we are deprived of development and basic necessities like electricity and gas.
Jameel Shah highlighted the agonies of the tribe and called upon tribal elders to contest the upcoming elections under the banner of UQM.
President of UQM, Haji Shah Wali Khan said that feudal lords are conspiring to keep our people deprived of education so that this area is infested with unemployed youth, a pre-condition of lawlessness and radical thoughts.
Demanding full-scale development in the area he advised the local administration not to ignore the strength and commitment of the UQM in dealing with local problems.
Famous poet, Kamran of Charsadda demanded an Uthmankhel road from Bajaur leading directly to Peshawar so that the tribe can take part in economic activities.
Retired DSP, Zohrab Gul criticized the MNAs and MPAs of FATA and Malakand for not doing any worth-mentioning project for the development.
At the end, Fasihuddin, the Patron-in-Chief of the tribe, urged unity and fight against all kinds of social evils like drugs, kidnapping, theft and radical thoughts.
Only unity and education can put you on the right track, he underlined. ---Ends.
