MOST, FPCCI organised science, technology expo

The Ministry of Science and Technology in collabration with Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) organised a one-day science and tenchnology exhibition at a local hotel.
Irfan Nadeem, Secretary for Science and Technology and Raza Khan, Chairman Coordination, FPCCI captial office inaugurated the exhibition.
In his inaugural address the secretary stressed that scientists and technologists to play a vital role in the development of the country.
We should struggle for the maintenance and improvement of our scientific and technological institutions, he stressed.
It is progress that guarantees the development of products, meeting the demands, especially of our most needy people, said Nadeem.
Guest of honour Muhammad Raza Khan, in his speach said that the importance of science and technology in society is demonstrated by the unconscious use of it in our daily lives. He said that we often have no idea how science and technology really affect us.
Raza said that we constantly use cell phones and computers, which are gifts of science and technology. There are hundreds of devices that science and technology have given us, he said adding that medicine is wall-to-wall science and technology.
He called upon youth to become sincerely interested in the importance of science and technology for the development of the country.
Dr. Shoukat Parvez, Chairman PCSIR was also present at the occasion while Dr. S. S. Tahir, Coordinator presented the Vote of Thanks.
President RCCI Syed Ali Raza Shah, President IWCCI Samina Fazil, government officials, executives of multinationals, leading businessmen and community related to industry, academia and general public visited the exhibition.
Many leading organisations had estabished stalls in the exposition which attracted large crouds.
The main objective of the exhibition was to promote quality products based on indigenous technology. R&D products, processes, technologies developed by PCSIR and other S&T organizations along with the services being provided to the stakeholders were displayed at the exhibition.
