¨ TWO OFFICERS OF MOTORWAY POLICE AWARDED PRESIDENT POLICE MEDAL (PPM) AND ONE OFFICER AWARDED SITARA-E-JURRAT ON THEIR BRAVERY AND GOOD PERFORMANCE.
Two officers of Motorway Police awarded President Police Medal and one officer awarded Sitara-e-Jurrat on their bravery and good performance. As per details, last year Patrol Officer Shah-e-Iran was performing his duty on motorway in the area of Kallarkahar and arrested one suicide bomber and handed over to another officer. When Shah-e-Iran tried to arrest another suicide bomber, he exploded the vehicle. In result PO Shah-e-Iran received martyrdom in the incident. Subsequent investigations brought forth that the explosives filled vehicle was meant for a sabotage activity and to hit a sensitive building in Lahore, which was averted by the bravery and courage of PO Shah-e-Iran. President of Pakistan has conferred the Sitara-e-Jurrat after martyrdom to PO Shah-e-Iran.
In another incident, on the night of 09th November 2010 two officers of motorway police SPO Aftab Ahmed and PO Sagheer Ahmed foiled an attempt of robbery in a bus through commando action on GT road in the area of Lalamusa (Gujrat). After exchange of firing one culprit namely Imran Hussain s/o Muhammad Ibraheem arrested in injured condition who later died due to severe injuries. Arms and ammunitions were also recovered. During judicial inquiry done by District and Session Judge Kharian Mr. Mukhtar Ahmed Ranjha declared that it was a true incident, and appreciated the bravery and performance of these NH&MP officers. President, Islamic Republic of Pakistan has conferred the award of President Police Medal (PPM) on the bravery of SPO Aftab Ahmed and PO Sagheer Ahmed. Inspector General, National Highways & Motorway Police Mr. Zafarullah Khan has congratulated the officers on receiving these awards. He also congratulated the family of PO Shah-e-Iran for conferring the Award of Sitara-e-Jurrat.
