لاہور میں صحافی قتل

28 سالہ مقتول صحافی فیصل قریشی ایک آن لائن اخبار''لندن پوسٹ'' سے منسلک تھے۔
پولیس کے مطابق فیصل قریشی کو جوہر ٹاؤن میں واقع ان کے گھر میں قتل کیا گیا۔ مقتول کے بھائی کا کہنا تھا کہ انھیں گزشتہ چند روز سے قتل کی دھمکیاں بھی مل رہی تھیں۔
پاکستان میں صحافتی تنظیموں نے اس واقعے کی شدید الفاظ میں مذمت کرتے ہوئے قاتلوں کو فوری گرفتاری کا مطالبہ کیا ہے۔
نیویارک میں قائم صحافیوں کے تحفظ کے لیے کام کرنے والی تنظیم ''کمیٹی ٹو پروٹیکٹ جرنلسٹس'' (سی پی جے) کی طرف سے جاری ہونے والے ایک مذمتی بیان میں اس واقعے پر شدید تشویش کا اظہار کرتے ہوئے قتل کی تحقیقات کے لیے آزادانہ کمیٹی کے قیام کا مطالبہ کیا گیا ہے۔
سی پی جے کے مطابق 2010ء میں دنیا میں پاکستان صحافیوں کے لیے سب سے زیادہ ہلاکت خیز ملک تھا اور اب بھی یہ صحافیوں کے لیے خطرناک تصور کیے جانے والے دنیا کے دس ملکوں میں سے ایک ہے۔
صحافیوں کے حقوق کے لیے کام کرنے والی تنظیموں کا کہنا ہے کہ پاکستان میں رواں سال چار صحافیوں کو قتل کیا جاچکا ہے۔اسی بارے میں

It is sadly announced that London Post's Lahore Bureau Chief, Faisal Qureshi was brutally murdered in Karachi style target killing at his residence on Thursday 6th October 2011. He was brother of Dr Shahid Qureshi senior British analyst and journalist an open critic of MQM's policies. Faisal Qureshi reported receiving death threats from Karachi based MQM after London Post published stories exposing MQM's terrorist activities. He reported his concerns to the Punjab Government authorities. Though murder investigations of Lahore based journalist are in progress British /Pakistani media demand swift arrests of the target killers from Punjab Government. In a statement Editor of the London Post, Dr Shahid Qureshi and brother of slain journalist Faisal Qureshi said, 'we will continue to protect freedom of speech and expression'. We are from family of martyrs of 1947 genocide.
British and Pakistani media demand protection from Government of Pakistan of their staffers based in Pakistan and full investigation of the murder of Faisal Qureshi.
Scotland Yard's assistance could be sought in this murder investigation of brother of British journalist and staffer of the British web news paper The London Post.
