The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) tomorrow (23^rd Feb 2012) at 11:00 am in Marriott Hotel, Islamabad (Marque Hall). Valuing over 1.5 billion rupees, WFP plans to construct nine (9) Humanitarian Response Facilities across the country in order to build national capacity to be better prepared to respond to the future emergencies. These storage facilities will enhance the capacity of NDMA and PDMAs, enable prepositioning of inter-agency emergency stocks (food and non-food and other humanitarian assistance.

Acting Humanitarian/Resident Coordinator/WFP Country Representative in Pakistan, Mr. Jean-Luc Siblot and the Chairman, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Dr. Zafar Iqbal Qadir will sign the MoU.
